Dream a sweet dream

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."
-Eleanor Roosevelt

Blogging seems to be getting pushed to the side. It saddens me that I haven't had the time to keep up with everything going on in the blogosphere. But I will keep checking back from time to time and send you some love when I can. This picture makes me smile every time I see it! Spread the happy! Xoxo

THÉÂTRE de la MODE

The fashions of post-World War II France are highlighted in this 1946 exhibit, which shows one-third human size mannequins wearing fashions created by the country’s finest designers. After their premiere in Paris they toured Europe then America. The last stop of the original 1946 international tour of Théâtre de la Mode was San Francisco where the mannequins remained until the early 1950s. At that time they were acquired by Maryhill Museum of Art. They went on a second world tour in the 1990s visiting Paris, New York, Baltimore, Portland and Tokyo.

Nine different stage sets create elaborate backdrops for the mannequins as they display both casual and formal wear of the day. Each year, three of the nine sets are on display.

Maryhill’s Théâtre de la Mode will feature a new rotation for the 2009 season. On view will be Jean Cocteau’s Ma Femme est une Sorcière (My Wife is a Witch), A Tribute to Renè Clair and Jean Saint-Martin’s Croquis de Paris (Paris Sketch), both originally created in 1945 and re-created in 1990 by Anne Surgers. Also on view is Scène du Rue (Street Scene) created by Anne Surgers in 1990 as a replacement for Georges Wakhevitch’s set The Port of Nowhere, 1945.

Moving is on my mind

Moving sucks. Now I have to deal with the clutter that I have been pretending doesn't exist. Moving is exciting! I get to cleanse out all the crap and get new.

Today I am slowly purging my closets. What are you doing?

It has been exactly one month today since my last post. Shame on me. Here are a few things that caught my eye on the internets.

I hope you are as lovely as ever!

Well, Im back, yes Im back

Well, Im back in black. Yes Im back in black. Hooo yeah. Ohh yeah. Yes I am. Oooh yeah, yeah oh yeah. Back in now. Well Im back, Im back. Back, Im back. Back, Im back. Back, Im back. Back, Im back. Back in black. Yes Im back in black.

Sorry for my little AC/DC outburst. I don't know what just came over me.

I have been out of the blogosphere for way too long. I don't know why I do this to myself. I guess life just seems to get in the way until I realize something is missing... my blog buds please forgive me for my lagging.

I took that road trip to Idaho for a friends wedding. It was a trip packed full of fun and booze. Oh goodness. You know it's a shit show of a weekend when you start out with sake bombs. Most of the pictures that were taken I do not recall, therefore most aren't blog worthy. I did where the Taupe dress I got from LuLu's to the wedding! I chose to "rock the pale". My excuse, I live in Oregon now... Hehe. Here is one little glimpse of me in the dress...

Last weekend I took a day trip to Horse Tail Falls, it was a gorgeous day. The scenery was so peaceful and serene. I just had to share these photos with you!

{enjoying time with my brother}

I hope you are all having a wonderfully relaxing Wednesday!

What a girl wants

All I need to survive.

Thank you all for the bronzin' 411. As the days go by and my laziness kicks in I am thinking about taking Droll Girls advice ... "Go white, go bright!", doesn't sound too shabby. We will see. Hope you are having a fabo Sunday Funday!
